Jean-Michel Jarre
No he is not brown bread or purchased a farm! Just an appreciation of a great composer

Timeless music and some classic albums that stand the test of time that few musicians do, also knobbed the Actress Charlotte Rambling back when she was one of the worlds most desirable woman, and is in the Guinness book of records for playing to the largest live concert, over 1 million at the place de la concord on Bastille Day in 1979.

Some truly classic albums and even those that have never heard of him will maybe recognise some of his compositions so often used in movies and on TV.

Particular favourites are

Oxygène
Équinoxe, that i have blasting as i type..........
Magnetic Fields

The Likes of Jarre and Vangelis were similar in some ways yet had their own identity. But Van Gelis was always the professor. Jarre was the student.

But we had our own pioneer in the Synth World.

Ladies and Gentlemen I give you, the one and only;

Listened to some of this, some good haunting tracks, some of which reminded me of the film Scarface..

it's difficult to appreciate what the big deal is nowdays, but all the sampling of zoo noises, space launches etc was pretty mind blowing at the time.

still love a listen of oxygene or something every now and then

Glad he's not Hovis but as far as his music goes it's pretty shit innit? Anyone that has to go fucking mental on lasers and shit to try to take your attention away from the music is fucking pony right?

Re: Jean-Michel Jarre
His original stuff is amazing. Oxygene, Equinox, Magnetic Fields and Rendezvous were pioneering
albums from the 70's and 80's.

He stayed true to his style with Chronologie, Oxygene 7-13 into the 90's, but then seemed to go too commercial into the new millenium, far too commercial.

Still listen to his stuff on a daily basis.

Good shout on both Far Cough, Van Gelis was an absolute genius and Alan Parsons has made some instrumental classics like Mammagamma.

We love the music have all CD's but was the amazing Docklands in the rain mimed ? If it was they did a decent job but all those electrics in that pouring rain was very Iffy.

Re: Jean-Michel Jarre
I like Oxygene but I prefer Vangelis or even Alan Parsons in that type of music
